Contre-jour (French for "against daylight") is a photographic technique in which the camera is pointing directly toward a source of light.1src.: Wikipedia

Spitzbergen is an archipelago situated a mere 1000km south of the North Pole. In July, a cloudless day renders 24 hours of contre-jour, as the never setting Sun seems to circle the beholder.
